Privacy
Last updated:
MOUSE is built privacy first. The short version is that everything runs on your device. MOUSE has no servers, needs no account, and never sends your camera feed or usage anywhere.
What MOUSE accesses
- Your camera. MOUSE reads frames from your webcam to detect your hand and eyes. Frames are processed locally in memory and are not recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- On device models. Hand and face detection use models bundled with the app. Detection happens entirely on your computer.
- Your settings. Your preferences and gesture bindings are stored in a local settings file on your own machine.
What MOUSE does not do
- No video, images, or screenshots leave your device.
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking of how you use the app.
- No accounts, sign ups, or logins.
- No selling or sharing of data. There is no data to sell.
Network use
MOUSE works fully offline. The only time the app touches the network is if you choose to download an update from the public releases page. Normal tracking never uses the internet.
Permissions
Your operating system will ask you to grant camera access, and on macOS an accessibility permission so MOUSE can move the pointer. You can revoke these at any time in your system settings, and you can turn MOUSE off instantly with a gesture or the global shortcut.
Children
MOUSE does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
